Jerry Bui, CEO of Right Forensics, brings over twenty years of specialized experience in digital forensics, risk management, and litigation support. Having started his career as a forensic analyst, Bui quickly became known for his keen ability to navigate complex data environments. His reputation grew as he continued to provide key testimony in high-stakes litigation, including trade secret theft, insider fraud, and government investigations.
In Bui’s most recent role as a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, he was a leader in the Digital Insights and Risk Management (DIRM) practice, where he focused on global alignment in Digital Forensics and standard operating procedures in the Microsoft 365 enterprise cloud. Prior to FTI, Bui served as the global Advisory leader for the digital forensics practice at Lighthouse, overseeing many high-profile cases requiring international coordination for some of the world’s largest multinational companies, including data remediation projects at pharmaceutical and biotech companies. His ability to navigate the complexities of international cases established him as an asset for engagements in Taiwan, China, and Vietnam. His on-the-ground expertise and command of local languages enabled smooth cooperation with IT teams and legal custodians, securing positive results for clients facing significant dispute resolution and regulatory scrutiny.
Earlier in his career, Jerry held senior roles at PwC, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, where he led major regulatory investigations and fraud detection projects. His creation of a custom open-source analytics platform at PwC, leveraging D3 and JavaScript for dynamic integration of client data, demonstrated his ability to innovate at the intersection of technology and forensics. This led to his ability to address global supply chain fraud within the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, bringing innovative solutions to clients in need of compliance monitoring and investigative frameworks.
Bui's contributions go beyond his extensive casework, having been involved in shaping the future of digital forensics through his work with organizations like INTERPOL, where he advises on Metaverse and Synthetic Media thought leadership, and AARP, where he educates the elderly on how to avoid deepfake scams. Additionally, Bui extends his global servant leadership reach with his longstanding pro bono work in the country of Lesotho, South Africa to help establish a digital forensics lab along with training personnel to support the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Offenses.
Throughout his career, Bui has also been a prolific speaker and thought leader, having published papers on emerging forensic technologies and contributing to the dialogue on regulatory risk.
